I got my first piece of steel from the father of a friend sometime around 1969. In 1971, I spent a day talking knives with Corbet Sigman, who gave me valuable advice.

For ten years I was both a pastor and part-time knifemaker.  I joined the Knifemakers' Guild in 1976. I've been making folding knives since 1977. In 1978 I became a full time knifemaker and began producing 100 to 120 knives per year.

I like adding something unique to each of my knives and I'm known for my "amber stag" (a distinctive reddish stag from India), pearl, and bighorn sheep.

My current wait list is approximately one year. I am always at the New York Show and the Knifemakers' Guild Show.
