Description: Swedish knifemaker Greger Forselius has they eye of a master! This traditional Swedish Puukko has a well rounded handle that fits very comfortably in the hand. Swelling at the palm and butt, the knife is very secure in the hand. The handle is particularly dramatic. Double dying the stabilized masur birch burl brings out the swirling grain structure. The wood has been sculpted as it approaches the curved pewter spacers, creating a particularly nice effect. The front spacer is created from reindeer antler. The sheath has been dyed to reflect the swirling tones of the wood handle. The heat blued blade, which was forged by renowned Swedish Bladesmith Paul Strande is a san mai. Three distinct layers of steel are forged together so as to create softer, supportive sides and a hard center core. The result is an exceptionally long lasting edge. The bevels have been polished, whereas the spine and flats are textured. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
