Description: Fred Ott's work is exceptional -- which is not surprising considering he has learned knifemaking under the watchful eye of his brother-in-law, Mastersmith Michael Vagnino.
The clip point blade was been hand forged from 5160. A distal taper results in optimal balance. An appleseed grind assures a keen, long lasting edge. Nickel silver fittings have been fileworked and are meticulously fit the blade and handle. The single piece exhibition grade desert ironwood burl has a swirling grain structure and a nice mix of warm, dark tones. Excellent fit and finish throughout with a great feel in the hand.
