Description: An exceptional fighter by Fred Ott! The slender blade has a long clip and is slightly upswept. It has been distal tapered for optimal balance. The 1086M carbon steel blade has been clay tempered using a traditional Japanese technique which creates a temper line that is clearly visible and assures a supportive spine and ultra-hard edge. The blade has been meticulously hand satin finished.
The heat blued guard is nicely offset by antiqued bronze fittings. The linear lines of the guard nicely complement the six sided handle. Warm tones in the ironwood an highlighted in the tightly convoluted grain structure. Fred made this knife with a take down construction -- allowing the knife to be fully disassembled for maintenance. Particular attention also went into the design and execution of the sheath, which features an English kip leather wrap over a basswood scabbard. Tremendous fit and finish throughout!
