Description: This European style straight razor is a real pleasure in the hand. Mastersmith Bill Burke's knives are legendary for their high level of performance.
The super-thin, hollow ground blade is formed from 52100 carbon steel. Many knifemakers and collectors feel that this steel, popularized by Mastersmith Ed Fowler, creates an edge that is beyond virtually any other steel. A particularly small grain structure is created by a heat treatment process incorporating low temperature forging, a triple quench, and a triple temper.
Mammoth ivory scales, measuring approximately 5 1/2 inches, mix blue, green, and caramel tones. The blade features a 3 inch cutting edge. Exceptional work throughout!
