Description: This exceptional hunter was made by bladesmith Fred Ott of Durango, Colorado. Fred creates dramatic knives that embody his out-of-the-box thinking.
Fred used CruForge V steel, which is a vanadium-modified high carbon steel specifically designed to offer the forgeability of carbon steels such as W1, 1086, or 52100, while providing improved wear resistance in finished blades. The blade is distal tapered for optimal balance. Fred has applied an eye-catching acid etch finish on the blade.
Fred used mesquite wood as the backbone for this very unique handle. Dark brown veins in the wood are handsomely accented by both the buffalo horn spacers and the large spacer of contrasting putumuju (canary wood). A pin of pink ivory complements the look. The handle is shaped to swell gently at the pommel, ensuring a secure and comfortable grip. A nickel silver guard completes the knife. Accompanied by a hand stitched brown leather sheath.
An amazing addition to any collection or a prized knife for the outdoorsman that wants something unique.
