Description: This exceptional hunter was made by bladesmith Fred Ott of Durango, Colorado. Fred creates dramatic knives that embody his out-of-the-box thinking.
Fred began with CruForge V steel, which is a vanadium modified high carbon blade steel specifically designed to offer the forgeability of carbon steels such as W1, 1086, or 52100, while providing improved wear resistance in finished blades. The blade is distal tapered for optimal balance. Fred applied an eye-catching acid etched finish to the blade.
Fred hand picked walnut wood for the backbone of this very unique handle. Darker chocolate veins in the wood are handsomely accented by a large spacer of contrasting box elder. A pin of turquoise toned chrysocolla complements the look. Chrysocolla is a mineral often found near deposits of quartz, azurite and malachite. The handle is shaped to swell gently at the pommel, ensuring a secure and comfortable grip. An antiqued bronze guard completes the knife. Accompanied by a hand stitched brown leather sheath.
An amazing addition to any collection or a prized knife for the outdoorsman that wants something unique.
