Description: Hamon Fighter is a dramatic example of Fred Ott's work. European and Japanese styles are combined into a unique knife that grabs attention and imagination from first sight.
The W2 carbon steel blade was forged to shape and clay hardened using a traditional Japanese technique. The resulting heat treatment line, known as a hamon, shows the separation between the soft, supportive spine, and the ultra-hard, long lasting edge.
The antiqued bronze guard and pommel have been textured. A central column of ironwood burl is perfectly fit between the bronze guard and butt cap. An antiqued copper spacer brings out warm tones in the wood.
The knife is accompanied by a basswood sheath wrapped with hand stitched buffalo leather. Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
