Description: This is another exquisite slip joint folder by Mastersmith Aaron Wilburn. Aaron, who was honored as a journeyman smith in June 2009 and a Mastersmith in 2013, creates serious knives for avid collectors around the world.
Aaron forged the blade to shape using his own Snowflake pattern mosaic damascus. By beginning with 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels, he ensures excellent edge retention. The action is smooth with a firm half stop. A long thumb nick makes it easy to open and close the blade. The long clip point stops just short of being fully sharpened.
The handle combines ancient wooly mammoth bark with front and rear stainless bolsters. The scales are a very rare green and caramel tone resulting from mineral deposits that were surrounding the buried ivory across millennia. The scales are secured using three stainless steel pins. The stainless steel liners have been hand filed and surround a damascus backbar forged from carbon steels.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
