Description: This Mel Nishiuchi folder is a spectacular knife!
The spearpoint blade is formed from ATS-34 stainless steel. It features and heirloom quality satin finish. The blade has smooth action and is easily opened with the thumb disc. It was heat treated by Paul Bos with a sub zero quench.
The scales are Graveyard Point Plume Agate. This agate, which is found only at Graveyard Point in the Owyhee Mountains of Oregon, is truly spectacular. Pictures do not do it justice. Plumes are suspended in the transparent stone.
Mokume gane bolsters were forged from brass, nickel silver, and copper by Devin Thomas. They are dovetailed to the stone scales for a perfect fit. Mel's skill in working with stones is truly exceptional. This, combined with his seemingly infinite store of rare gemstones, allows him to make some of the most unique knives to be found anywhere! The titanium liners and backbar are anodized.
Smooth, consistent action with a well centered blade. This is the 333rd knife that Nishiuchi has made. Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
