Description: Arno Bernard Sr. is a maker from South Africa and has been making knives for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) for over 20 years. Living in South Africa has allowed him the luxury of using many different exotic handle materials -- some even collected himself.
This Utility/Parer is made from Bohler N690 stainless steel. N690 is created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade has been hollow ground to a thin high performance edge. The spine has been rounded for a comfortable grip.
The handle is made from stabilized spalted maple set to the full tang using five stainless steel pins. The knife is very lightweight and comfortable to hold making it perfect for a daily carry fixed blade -- or use in the kitchen.
A brown leather pouch style sheath is included to keep the knife close at hand.
Excellent work throughout!
