Description: Mastersmith Kevin Harvey is well known for his tremendous attention to detail -- only matched by his skill at design. This hunter is a dramatic example of his work. It could easily be a prized knife in any collection, yet it will perform exceptional out in the field.
The 4.9 inch blade was forged to shape form carbon steels by Kevin using his own Zig-Zag pattern damascus. The 160 layer steel is immediately captivating -- it is that sort of pattern that you can't help but look at for hours. The recurve cutting edge and slightly upswept tip make this an extremely effective skinner.
The nickel silver guard moves into a handle formed from California giant redwood burl (Sequoia sempervirens). The warm toned wood has a tremendous grain structure that nicely reflects the intricacy of the damascus. A maple frame provides nice contrast. Both woods are stabilized, ensuring the knife will hold up beautifully to hard use.
This knife is accompanied by a light brown cowhide sheath with ostrich leather inlay.
Absolutely exceptional work throughout!
