Description: Blair Todd, out of Gresham, Oregon, makes an amazing culinary knife. Todd has been a full time maker since 2014. He is quickly becoming well known for his high performance chef's knives.
This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The long, deep-bellied blade is well suited for slicing vegetables and meats. The gentle arch of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board.
The blade is formed from 52100 carbon steel. Many knife users and knifemakers feel that 52100 is among the best steels currently used to make knives. It provides a super-keen cutting edge that won't quit. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to avoid rust and oxidation. Blair created a resist on the blade and deeply etched it. This deep etch provides a slightly uneven surface, which encourages slices to fall away from the side of the knife rather than sticking.
The handle is made from stabilized buckeye burl set on a full tang. This wood has a dramatic, swirling figure with a nice mix of light and dark tones. The handle is nicely contoured for a secure, comfortable grip.
The knife is perfectly balanced and will make chopping truly enjoyable!
